Article Marketing > Constructing a Marketing Article to Get Good Business Done!


 

If the number of online businesspeople marketing their businesses through article submissions is any indication, we can safely assume that this is the best way around to promote businesses. Almost every business website is into article submissions, and they are getting good traffic out of it too! It is certain that the power of article marketing is too much to be ignored.

But not all websites are getting equal business through article marketing. Of course, the volume of the business will depend on the nature of the business itself, but there are quite a number of variations in different business prospects seen even when the article marketing campaign is done in the same manner and the articles are submitted to almost the same directories. Where does the problem lie then? The businesses are almost the same, the products are almost the same, and even the directories to which the articles are submitted are the same. Then why does one business do well and the other falter? Well, the problem lies in the very article that has been written for the marketing campaign.

It is comical actually how some business owners ignore the quality of the article and pay much more attention on how they are going to submit to scores of directories, and what links they are going to put in the bio box. Funnily enough, more article marketers than you can imagine are interested in how their photo looks in the bio box than in the article that will appear with their name. These marketers are the first to fall flat on the face with their article marketing campaign.

Just answer one question – what will the reader see first in your article marketing campaign? Obviously, it is the article itself. Only when the article is impressive enough will the reader want to go to the website and do some business there.

That is why, you do not have to simply write an article for your article marketing campaign. That is what students at High School do for their English assignments. Business article marketing is a totally different cup of tea. Here you are not hankering for a handful of grades from your professor; in article marketing you are playing at high stakes. Your eye is on increasing business potential.


What does constructing a Marketing Article mean?

Have you ever seen a civil engineer at work? To say it in short, these people first make up a blueprint of the building they are constructing, then deliberate on the various pros and cons, and then slowly begin putting the components in place. This is how they come up with their small models, which will later become a reality.

You have to exercise the same kind of preparatory effort in making your article. Just as how the engineer does not directly start with making holes in the ground for the foundation without having a plan first, you also must not directly plunge into your article. Think about it. Plan it out. And then set to work. Put one component of your article after another. When you do this, you will not have only 'written' the article; you will have meticulously 'constructed' it. And the love with which you constructed your article will reflect when the reader reads it.


How does one construct a Marketing Article?

Don't worry if all this has alarmed you and has forced you into thinking that what you were doing until now with your submission articles was wrong. I am not going to leave you in the lurch. Here are my tips on how you can construct your article.

Research – The first part of the article should definitely be research, and you have to go no further than the Internet in finding information. Assuming that you have already thought of what you will be writing about, make a search. Open up some of the links that appear. You can also do the search in article submission directories. This is a better source, actually. You will be directed to articles on the subject written by different writers. Read through them.

Record – As you are reading, make a habit of recording important points that you on across. You can use something like Notepad to jot down your points. Write them precisely. Then decide what order you want these points to appear in your article. Arrange them accordingly. You must have one point for every fifty or so words that you will be writing for your article.

Raise – Now is the time to raise these points to a full-blooded article. Weave sentences around the points you have noted down. It is wonderful if you can make some observations of your own. Make short paragraphs that will be easy to read. And when writing the article, do not look at the websites. You should do all this research before writing the first word. That is the way I do it. It ensures that the articles are never plagiarized, even inadvertently.

Reconstruct – Once your article is ready in crisp simple language, you will have to reconstruct the article. Here you will have to do many things. Think whether the opening and concluding lines of your article are good. If not, change them. Consider using bulleted lists instead of long-winded paragraphs. Change the difficult words of your article into common, everyday words. Change the language to become reader-friendly. This is also the time when you should check whether popular keywords have occurred in your article.

Rename – Try different titles for your article till you reach one that you think the readers will like the most. Remember that it is the title that will drag readers to the article link when it comes up in the search results.

That's it! Now your article is fully constructed, and ready to be put online. Submit it to the directory and see. If you have heeded to the rules I described, you will be sure to get traffic for your article, and from there on, to the business website.
