When it comes to search engine optimization, content rules. The search engines scour the web for keyword-rich, relevant content. If you want to reap the marketing benefits of search engine optimization, add more content. It’s the fastest, simplest way to improve your rankings and search position. Here are 10 ways to add more content to your website.

  1. Press releases. Write press releases with the web in mind and post them on your website. Include relevant keywords and watch your rankings soar.
  2. Articles. Write quick articles related to your service, product or area of expertise. Post them on an articles page on your website.
  3. Online bio. Add or update your existing online biography. Include keywords and keywords phrases to your area of expertise.
  4. Newsroom. Add a newsroom to your website. Include keywords in press releases. Add a welcome header and message that includes relevant keywords.
  5. FAQs. Do you get a lot of questions about your products and services or how you work? If so, here’s a prime opportunity for you to make the most of q&a. Turn those common questions into an FAQ page.
  6. Product / Service Descriptions. Add sales and search appeal to your website with descriptions of your products and services. If you sell products from an online catalog, beef up your product descriptions with keywords. If you’re a service provider, don’t just list your services; provide an optimized description of each.
  7. Landing pages. Take your service descriptions to the next level. Create landing pages. This works especially well if you offer specialty services or services to niche markets.
  8. Testimonials. Optimize your testimonials for the search engines. If a satisfied client writes, “Your nutrition plan has made my Chihuahua healthier than ever,” bump the testimonial up to, “Your nutrition plan for small dogs has made my Chihuahua healthier than ever.”
  9. Customer success stories. Want to get a big boost from your testimonials? Turn them into longer case studies, or customer success stories. Keep them to three or four brief paragraphs.
  10. Start blogging. Blogs are excellent for search engine optimization and content building. Plus, they build your credibility. Some of the most popular blog providers are Blogger, Typepad and WordPress.

 

When adding content to your pages, your goal should be a minimum of 250 words per page, and your keywords and keyword phrases should be mentioned 5 to 6 times per 250 words of text.
